Liberty, MO — the Liberty square, William Jewell College and the Route 291 corridor.
WHY WE ARE HERE
Liberty keeps a genuine historic core and builds new around it, which means two different fencing conversations in the same town - what suits a hundred-year-old street, and what suits a subdivision built last year.
Clay County, population about 30,000.
Clay County earns its name. Clay holds water, swells and shrinks with the season, and it is unforgiving of a shallow post. Depth and backfill are where a fence in this ground is won or lost.
On the older streets we will talk you out of a style that fights the house. A fence should read like it belongs to the property, and on a historic block that usually means simpler than people expect.
Two towns, two answers. On the historic streets near the square, simpler is better - a clean cedar privacy or a modest ornamental that does not fight a house older than the fence. Out in the newer subdivisions, vinyl and board-on-board do most of the work, and the finish details matter more because the fence is visible from the street.
Clay is the constraint in Liberty, and it is the reason we do not quote depth as a range. Ground that swells and shrinks with the season will find a shallow post, so we set below the frost line and backfill for drainage rather than speed. It is slower on install day and it is the difference in year three.
