FENCE TYPE
Modern cedar frame with wire mesh - open views, real durability.
Tell us about your property and we’ll walk the line with you, answer your questions, and put the price in writing.
Built on the same cedar posts and rails as our privacy fences - the frame is the fence, set to the same standard.
Wire mesh fixed inside the frame keeps the view open - you contain the yard without walling off the land behind it.
Walk the line with us and get the price in writing - heights, gates, and layout matched to your property.
Open views, real durability - the pick when you want the property line held without hiding it. Ask us whether hogwire or another style fits your ground; the estimate is free either way.
It is worth being straight about this before you price it. Hogwire holds a line and keeps the view; it is not a privacy fence, and no amount of framing makes it one.
The reason most people choose it. A pasture, a tree line, a pond or a garden stays part of the yard instead of disappearing behind boards. On a small lot it keeps the space feeling as big as it is.
Welded mesh closes the gaps a rail fence leaves open, so the yard works for dogs and children while still reading as open. Tell us the smallest animal you need to keep in and we will talk through mesh spacing on the walk.
Anyone can see through it, in both directions, and it blocks little wind or noise. If the goal is screening a patio or a pool, cedar, vinyl or composite privacy is the honest answer and we will say so.
Left alone, cedar weathers to a silver-gray. That is the material doing what cedar does, not a defect. A wash and a coat every few years holds the warmer color if you prefer it.
A wire fence lives or dies on its posts and corners, because the mesh pulls against every corner and gate for the life of the fence. Our usual starting point is 30-36 inches of post embedment, with the final depth set by the fence, the ground and the footing detail the site needs.
Gates take the most use and the most abuse on any fence, so they belong in the conversation while we are standing in the yard - width, swing, latch height, and whether a mower or a truck has to get through.
It depends on the run, the gates and the ground, which is why the number comes from the walk rather than from a table. Every option gets its own line in the written quote, so you can compare hogwire against a privacy style side by side before you decide.
Usually, and the mesh spacing is the part that matters. Bring it up on the walk - the smallest animal you need to contain decides the mesh, and it is easier to settle before the material is ordered than after.
Yes. A hill gives you a stepped run or a raked run, and the two look different when they are finished. We will show you which one your ground wants while we are measuring it.
