Chillicothe, MO — the sliced-bread murals downtown, Simpson Park and the Grand River.
WHY WE ARE HERE
Chillicothe is the Livingston County seat, a grid town where US 36 meets US 65, with the Grand River to the west and a downtown that painted its sliced-bread claim on the walls. The blocks are straight, the alleys are real, and the yards run larger than they look from the street.
Livingston County, population about 9,000.
Upland clay through most of town, and Grand River bottom ground on the west and south edges that floods in a bad year. A fence on the flood side is built knowing the water will come: posts set to hold when the ground is saturated, and panel styles that let water and debris through rather than catching them.
Chillicothe is a working town and it buys fences that way: a straight, solid privacy run or a chain-link yard that will still be plumb in ten years. We quote it plainly and we do not dress it up.
Cedar and vinyl privacy in town, chain-link everywhere a dog lives, and board fence on the acreages north and east. Aluminum shows up around pools and on the newer streets.
Grid streets and alleys make Chillicothe one of the easiest towns we work in. The drive is the long part, so we bundle jobs in the area and the miles are ours to absorb, not yours.
